Chris leads MTC and is responsible for ensuring the team are up to date with the most recent industry happenings, sentiments and regulations, resulting in our clients getting the specialist advice they require with absolute clarity.

Experience

Chris is a specialist in multiple aspects of façade engineering, based in the North West, with both national and international reach.

With nearly 20 years of experience in this niche discipline, degrees in Civil Engineering & Façade/Architectural Engineering and considerable practical experience, he is well placed to advise on design, materials, construction, commercial viability and maintenance of building envelopes.

Prior to establishing McKay Turner Consulting (MTC), he held senior global Product Development & Technical Management roles, specifically dealing with advanced facade and building envelope systems.

He also served as Director, leading the National Façade Consultancy team at CBRE in addition to being Facade Fire Safety lead due to his experience and in response to the growing demand for quality, trusted and timely advice around façade fire safety.

Achievements

  • Acted as the lead façade consultant and project manager for the sale of the Student IQ portfolio including presenting the bidders presentations – the largest ever single property transaction in UK history at £4.7bn.

  • Trusted and ‘go-to’ façade consultant to numerous high profile clients and funds.

  • Public speaker, most recently focusing on the technical and commercial implications of the Building Safety Act 2022.

Role

Paul is a Director of MTC, supporting strategy & growth.

A highly experienced and sought after construction professional, having operated at Board Level within FTSE 100 Organisations to SMEs within the construction sector ranging from Top 5 Main Contractors, Construction Managers, Clients, Developers and Sub-Contractors.

Experience

Paul is the retained Cost Consultant by a global leading brand / enterprise, providing cost, contract, procurement, tender and contract administration services.

A qualified Quantity Surveyor with more than 30 years’ experience.

Holding a passion for fair treatment of sub-contractors, Paul specialises in this area.

Currently appointed Chairman and Non-Executive to a number of Specialist Sub-Contractors, also assisting both Business Owners and Board of Directors in expansion plans and guiding Organisations through difficult decision making processes.

Paul also sits as a committee member of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC).
